WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU

YOU KNOW WHEN I WRITE POETRY SHIT GETS REAL

The doll continued to do as he was told.

Without question, with ruthlessness, with anger so bold.

Ships flew above his head, beneath his feet,

All around in the wind at heights so steep.

And there came that man, that same man that said:

That his name was Bucky, and that he thought he was dead.

A great fight they did have while the world just spun on,

As three carriers took aim with a bright red LOCKED ON.

For many a tense moment Captain Rogers persisted,

And soon Hydra’s efforts, beaten, successfully resisted.

The Winter Soldier pressed on, still hellbent on his mission,

But Cap merely sighed and discarded protection.

He punched and kicked, Steve making no move,

Except to sadly smile at him, all broken and bruised.

An in his confusion, the Soldier’s button was then pressed,

When with a weak voice, Steve said what he had said.

“I’m with you until the end of the line.”

And the world came back as the sky burst in flames,

And planes fell from place, down with it Steve and his dear James.

In the water they went, down in black cold abyss,

Where Bucky remembered Steve’s smile, and the time he had missed.

And so he saved Captain, brought him to the shore and all,

While high above them, the last helicarrier was doomed to fall.

Days later, all alone, Steve sat at a table,

With a sketchbook in hand, graphite scratching well and able

The face of a friend he had long since missed

The hope of reuniting so painfully dismissed—

When a shadow cast over him and a gruff voice spoke out loud:

“Is this seat taken?”, he turned and saw a smile so proud.

Bucky returned to him after all, and everything will be fine.

Of course, after all, they’re together till the end of the line.

Steve hadn’t expected a party. Bucky had come back to him only a year ago, he was healing, remembering, and it was the best present Steve could have ever hoped for, but Bucky had more than that in mind. With a little help from Steve’s teammates, Bucky arranged for fireworks, presents, and a cake (who’s violently American interior Bucky found, personally, hilarious.) But the best present came after everyone had left, and Steve could lay in bed with the man he loved, and kiss him, warm, and tender, and know he never had to loose him again.
